Eliza Bryant Village is proud to present our 2019 Annual Report
2019 marked Eliza Bryant Village’s 124th year of service to Greater Cleveland’s elderly poor residents. It was a year filled with challenges and accomplishments. Notably, we launched our Elder Justice Center, a new program for our facility and the only one of its kind in Ohio. With it, we offer temporary respite to seniors experiencing abuse, violence, trauma, or criminal victimization. We welcomed our first guest in December 2019.
We also embarked on a thoughtful and collaborative journey in 2019 to develop our three-year strategic plan. As Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, I led this project in collaboration with our Board of Trustees, Executive Team, and many Village constituents. We also had several opportunities to engage with a variety of Village stakeholders. These conversations helped us create solid foundations for continued change and long-term success.
We continue to be challenged by the gap between the actual cost to provide high-quality care to our nursing home residents and the level of reimbursement provided by our funding sources, principally Medicaid. Your input, feedback, and ideas helped to shape our plans for the next three years. As you might imagine, those plans are currently undergoing revision given the historic pandemic we are all currently enduring. In the interim, we will continue to help each other, to help seniors in our care, and to advocate for policies that will help our community grow healthier and stronger.
Please consider donating to Eliza Bryant Village to help us fulfill our mission and our new vision to be One Village, Inspired By Traditional African American Values, Welcoming to All.
We hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.
