In these times of uncertainty and rapidly changing rules and guidelines related to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Board and staff at Eliza Bryant Village hope that you and your family are healthy. We are writing to reassure you that the health, safety and well-being of the seniors in our care continue to be our top priority, and to keep you informed about the steps we are taking to protect our vulnerable residents, while also providing our staff a safe working environment.
- We always keep our campus clean and disinfected, and we have increased both the frequency and scope of these cleanings in accordance with CDC recommendations to help ensure both our residents and staff are kept safe.
- Similarly, hand washing hygiene is critically important, a step we continue to emphasize to staff and those we serve. As always, we provide options for hand cleaning for residents and staff, and we work closely with our teams to ensure that anyone who is not feeling well understands that we support them staying home.
- We are also abiding by the evolving restrictions enacted from various governing bodies and have restricted access to our campus by volunteers and visitors, we have eliminated congregate meals in our independent housing and our Adult Day Care Program is currently suspended until further notice.
We appreciate all of your support during these challenging times. However, to continue our efforts to retain our dedicated staffing in place and serve the nearly 1200 individuals we care for every year, we urgently need your help now.
In 2019, we provided approximately $1 million in charity care, most of it for care to Medicaid-covered residents in our nursing facility. With the temporary closing of Adult Day Care, and other challenging decisions still to come, we need your financial support to help us stay afloat during these troubling times.
Please join us in continuing to support and care for older adults. This crisis has inspired many stories of compassion and philanthropy. Let’s continue to pay it forward. We are all in this together.
