Cleveland, Ohio– Eliza Bryant Village has been selected as an honoree for the Smart Business 2018 Business Longevity Awards for its ability to adapt and evolve over the past 122 years. Eliza Bryant Village will be recognized with 24 other honorees at the Business Longevity Awards Luncheon at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland on August 9, 2018.

“The transformation from our humble beginnings, providing food and shelter to underserved African American elders, at the home of Eliza Simmons Bryant, to our full-service campus providing healthcare, programs and services along the continuum of care for aging adults and their caregivers continues,” said Danny R. Williams, JD, MNO, LNHA, President & Chief Executive Officer of Eliza Bryant Village.  “While much has changed since our founding in 1896, our dedication to serving all of our elderly with dignity and respect remains a catalyst for our strategic growth.”

Eliza Bryant Village has evolved from offering health services to nine seniors in a single family home on Giddings Avenue in 1896 to providing quality healthcare, and other supportive programs and services on our 17-acre campus to more than 1,200 seniors annually. Our rich history resonates with and continues to inspire volunteers, donors and staff who bring a broad range of talents to our mission of caring.

“The success of Eliza Bryant Village over the past century is the result of dedication from board members, staff and community partners that continues today,” said Danielle Sydnor, Board Chair of Eliza Bryant Village. “As the number of aging adults in need of service continues to grow, we are ready to take on new opportunities that will allow us to meet the needs of this evolving generation that we have the privilege to serve.”

The Business Longevity Award by Smart Business Cleveland honors organizations in Greater Cleveland that demonstrate a commitment to excellence and continue to build upon timeless values and principles that set the stage for generations of economic achievement.
